About Larry Hays
In the late 1980’s, Larry joined the world-renown amusement manufacturer Arrow Dynamic’s senior management team as V. P. overseeing domestic and international sales and marketing. During Larry’s tenure at Arrow, he worked with the development team on such iconic attractions as the Magnum XL 200 roller coaster at Cedar Point, the King Kong tram ride at Universal Studios, and Splash Mountain at Disneyland. With Arrow’s reputation for innovation, Larry was able to position Arrow as the singular roller coaster manufacturer in the world for the highest and/or fastest coaster.
Larry developed relationships with several Las Vegas casinos, which were ready to install amusement rides to create family-friendly venues. Larry negotiated with each of these casinos to find unique attractions for their individual venues. The drop tower on top of the Stratosphere was one of the most dramatic of the Las Vegas rides Larry sold. It was also the first S&S tower installed.
Larry was later hired by S&S as their interim Sales and Marketing VP, while concurrently working with Skycoaster and introducing Gerstlauer and Maurer Sohne to North America.
In the 90’s, Larry worked with Sarcos’ Steve Jacobson as he was developing animatronics/robotics. Larry introduced these robotics into Universal Studio’s Jurassic Park and various Disney installations.
In 2005, Larry became Wiegand’s North American Sales and Marketing Manager for an innovative ride they had developed – the mountain coaster. Sales and installations flourished, as major ski operators were looking to expand their business, and the mountain coaster became a mountain sensation. Larry worked closely with mega ski resort operators such as Vail, Alterra, Powder Corp., Boyne Resorts, and The Fairbank Group on their mountain coaster installations.
In 2018, Larry joined the sales and marketing team at Leisure Labs, LLC, where he directs North American sales for the newest sensation in mountain coasters, the SunKid single-rail track mountain coaster.
With over thirty-years’ experience in sales and marketing, in both the amusement and ski industries, Larry has a qualified perspective on the types of attractions that will be successful for his customers.
